A new masterplan for a Croydon estate saw the creation of 100 new homes, 50% affordable set within the context of retained mature trees. The proposals focused on knitting together the existing and new through extensive landscape improvements. The form of the tower creates a counter point to a nearby Grade 1 Listed Building, while the lower blocks respond to the adjacent 1960s housing. Landscape improvements were key to the scheme being on an estate estate; offering existing residents improved playspace, refuse and bike storage, as well as amphitheatre style seating to allow for informal conversations with neighbours and a space to pause.
